Condo or single family home: the first fork

The first real decision here is between a condo and a single family home, and the two shop very differently. On the attached side you are comparing units inside buildings and communities, so several listings at once can be genuinely similar, and the differences come down to floor, exposure, and what the association carries. On the single family side each listing is its own parcel, so comparison is slower and more one-at-a-time: lot, orientation, age of systems, and what previous owners did. Decide which of those two searches you actually want to run before you start booking tours.

You can travel for months and come back to a building that was looked after while you were gone, which is a different relationship with a house than most people have had. What ownership here asks of you
